Meet the Artist,
Eleanor Becker began painting and drawing as a youngster.
She seriously pursued art starting in 1964. During the following
years she exhibited in the mid west, Denver and Ouray,Colo.,
Farmington, and Taos,NM., and Page, Arizona. Eleanor has taught
art on the community college level, served as judge for art
exhibits and received many awards, including awards from national
competitions.
A change in occupation caused several years of laying the
art work aside until retirement. In 1998 she again entered
a national competition and took the first place award. This
gave her encouragement to once again pursue the talent she
says the Lord has given her. Since then she has acquired first
or second place awards in every competition entered.
She has done clay sculpting, worked with the pottery wheel,
pastels, water color, tempra, oil, and acrylic mediums. At
the present time she prefers creating with acrylics.
A sought after work shop instructor, she plans to pursue
her talent, learning from each new inspirational challenge.
